While many people take appropriate steps to insure their homes, cars and other important assets, far fewer consider themselves, their family and the potentially devastating consequences of an unexpected death, injury, life threatening illness or permanent disability.

Aon’s experienced brokers can provide professional advice and tailor specific Life and Health insurance solutions to reflect exactly what you need to fit you and your family’s individual requirements and budget.

Lump Sum Covers

Life Cover

In the event of death or terminal illness, Life Cover pays a lump sum on the death of the life insured. Should the insured have a terminal illness and a life expectancy of no more than 12 months, then the lump sum will be paid
early.

Total and Permanent Disablement (TPD)

Total and Permanent Disablement insurance pays a lump sum payment if the insured suffers an injury or illness which totally and permanently incapacitates them, preventing them from working again.

Trauma Cover

Trauma Cover pays a lump sum upon the diagnosis or suffering of one of a specific number of critical conditions and serious illnesses. The most commonly diagnosed illnesses in New Zealand are cancer, heart disease and stroke. You do not need to be deemed unable to work to receive this cover.

What can these lump sum benefits be used for?

  • Reducing or paying off debt.

  • Providing financial support for family and supplementing lost income.

  • Paying for your spouse or family member to take time off work to assist with caring for you or your children.

  • Paying for alternative treatments that aren’t covered by health insurance.

  • Taking time off work to rest and recover in the event of Trauma. Many people recovering from a serious illness want to work reduced hours even if they’re still physically able to work.

  • Funeral and final expenses in the event of death.

Income Protection

Income Protection insurance is designed to pay you a benefit to replace any lost income in the event you cannot work because of illness or an accident.

There are multiple options available that will provide you cover regardless of whether you are a wage/salary worker, self-employed or run your own business.

Private Health Insurance

New Zealand’s public health care and ACC provide a great service for critical and emergency health issues, however when it comes to elective procedures there tends to be a waiting list.
Private Health Insurance provides an alternative to give you access to quick and efficient treatment without having to wait.

It is designed to cover the significant costs associated with hospitalisation and surgery including cancer care, home nursing, treatment away from your home in New Zealand, and treatment overseas in some cases. The policy can also cover optional benefits of specialist and tests, GP visits, optical and dental care.
