Decisions shape the world around us, and at Aon in Aotearoa we believe that the decisions we make today can have a profound impact on tomorrow. That’s why we are proud to be a Partner of Spirit of Adventure Trust, together we are giving the next generation confidence to reach their full potential through life lessons learned at sea.
For over 50 years the Spirit of Adventure Trust has taken young New Zealanders on voyages of personal discovery aboard Spirit of New Zealand, providing a unique environment for young people to learn essential life skills including resilience, teamwork, self-leadership and confidence.
We believe this lifechanging experience should be available to all and we want to support as many young people as possible to have this experience for themselves. Every year, Aon removes a major barrier to entry for young people by funding ten scholarships for the 10 Day Development Voyage – each valued at $2995.

About the 10 Day Development Voyage
On Spirit, young people gain life lessons that help to unlock their potential whilst improving their communication and leadership skills and learning the importance of self-awareness and being a part of a team. A 10 Day Development Voyage is an amazing way to make lifelong friends from communities from across Aotearoa New Zealand.
In a changing and uncertain world, young people come under increasing pressure to make important decisions more often – some with potential to have a profound impact. Both Aon and Spirit of Adventure Trust believe that their youth development voyages can positively impact communities across Aotearoa New Zealand by empowering young people with skills to help them make better decisions.

About Aon’s National Sponsorship Partners
Alongside Spirit of Adventure Trust, Aon is proud to support Surf Life Saving New Zealand and Sustainable Coastlines.
As an island nation, Aotearoa’s oceans, coasts and water resources are intertwined with our identity, history and culture - and our connection runs deep. Approximately 65 percent of New Zealanders live within five kilometres of the ocean, and our people and communities must navigate many risks in and around the water.
Surf Life Saving New Zealand helps to nurture safer, more resilient communities by keeping them safe on our beaches; Sustainable Coastlines helps to preserve New Zealand’s coastlines by gathering actional insights to help reduce plastic pollution; and Spirit of Adventure Trust are giving the next generation confidence to reach their full potential through life lessons learned at sea.
Much like in business, partnering with these iconic New Zealand organisations and supporting the work they do to manage risk and build resilience, directly contributes to greater outcomes in the communities we operate in.
